Maxxmar Eleganza Sheer:
Where Drapery Meets the Precision of Blinds
Soft fabric vanes with a classic drapery silhouette, a colour-coordinated track, child-safe wand control, and the energy efficiency of a true insulating layer — all in one sheer vertical blind designed for large windows and sliding doors. By ECO Glass Windows And Doors, official Maxxmar authorized dealer.
What Is the Maxxmar Eleganza Sheer?
The Maxxmar Eleganza Sheer is a sheer vertical blind built from soft fabric bonded to fabric vanes — producing a look that sits closer to tailored drapery than to a conventional blind. The vanes carry a classic 3½-inch pleat profile; they rotate to tilt light and adjust privacy, and they stack to one side or split from the centre to open the window or door entirely. The track system is colour-coordinated to the fabric selection and concealed behind a flat valance, so what you see from inside the room is fabric — not hardware.
Eleganza Sheer is designed for large windows and sliding glass doors up to 96 inches wide and 108 inches tall. It is the product Maxxmar built for homeowners who want the light management of a vertical blind with the refined visual weight of soft furnishings — and who want those two things to work together rather than one compromising the other.
ECO Glass Windows And Doors is an authorized Maxxmar dealer supplying and installing the complete Eleganza Sheer range, including the Opera Eleganza configuration, across the Greater Toronto Area.

Fabric Construction & the Drapery Effect
What distinguishes Eleganza Sheer from a conventional vertical blind is not just the fabric — it’s the way the fabric is constructed. Each vane combines a soft face fabric with a backing, bonded together, so the vane has dimensional body rather than lying flat like a plastic slat. The 3½-inch classic pleat introduces horizontal structure to the hanging fabric, creating folds that catch and diffuse light differently at different angles of the day — the way curtains do, rather than the way blinds do.
In the open tilt position, the sheer face fabric allows natural light to pass through in a softened, diffused form — reducing harsh direct sun without eliminating daylight. The room stays bright and open-feeling while glare is controlled. In the closed position, the overlapping vanes block direct views from outside while still allowing ambient light to filter through. The colour-coordinated track and flat valance complete the illusion: from a distance, Eleganza Sheer reads as a soft window treatment, not a blind.
When Eleganza Sheer vanes are in the closed position, they overlap each other to block the view. However, the vanes do not contact each other along their full length — a small gap may be visible toward the bottom of the shade. This is a characteristic of the product design shared across all sheer vertical products. For applications where full light blockage is required, Eleganza Sheer can be paired with a roller shade on the same window.
Opera Eleganza Sheer — Two Fabrics, One System
The Opera Eleganza Sheer is a dual-fabric configuration that adds a room-darkening layer behind the sheer front fabric. The front vanes are the same decorative sheer fabric bonded to fabric vanes — the aesthetic of the product is unchanged. Behind them sits a second fabric layer in Ecoflex white or Tender white (standard), with other Ecoflex and Tender colours available.
The Dual-Fabric Advantage
The Opera configuration gives you the soft sheer appearance of Eleganza during the day and the option to deploy a room-darkening layer when needed — without mounting a second product or a separate roller shade. The decorative fabric-coordinated cassette wrap is included at no additional charge in the Opera configuration.

Cassette Options & Colour-Coordinated Track
Standard Eleganza Sheer includes a flat valance that runs the width of the shade, concealing the track mechanism and presenting a clean horizontal line at the top of the window. The track itself is colour-coordinated to the fabric selection — meaning the hardware blends with the vanes rather than contrasting with them, which is uncommon in vertical blind products at this price point.
Optional cassette upgrades are available: the Square Cassette gives the headrail a flat-fronted, architectural profile that suits contemporary and modern interiors. The Opera M Cassette is the configuration used with the Opera Eleganza dual-fabric product. In both cases, the cassette dresses the hardware and reinforces the refined appearance of the shade rather than exposing the track to view.

Eleganza Sheer vs. Dream Shade
Maxxmar offers two sheer vertical products — Eleganza Sheer and Dream Shade — that share a category but serve different priorities. The right choice depends on what the opening demands.
Aesthetic-First, Classic Profile
3½-inch classic pleat, colour-coordinated track, flat valance — the product where the visual result is the priority. Both one-way and split draw available from the start, including manual. Maximum 96 inches wide. Dual-fabric Opera configuration available with room-darkening back layer. No full motorization of the main vane system.
Function-First, Walk-Through Design
Walk-through fabric vanes that part when you pass through and return to position — the product where patio door usability is the priority. Wider maximums: 144 inches manual, 240 inches motorized. Full motorization with center-split draw available. White track only, no dual-fabric configuration.
Choose Eleganza Sheer When
The opening is a large window or standard-width sliding door (up to 96 inches), the room design calls for a refined drapery-like aesthetic, you want both one-way and split draw on a manual system, or the Opera dual-fabric configuration suits your light control requirements.
Choose Dream Shade When
The opening is a high-traffic patio door where constant walk-through access is essential, the width exceeds 96 inches, full motorization with center-split draw is needed, or covering a very wide window wall is the goal.

For openings wider than 96 inches, two separate Eleganza Sheer panels are installed butt-to-butt — side by side with their edges meeting. Each panel operates independently. This approach works well for very wide window walls where a single shade would not be practical; for seamless single-system coverage beyond 96 inches, Maxxmar Dream Shade (motorized, up to 240 inches) is the alternative.
Energy Efficiency & Light Diffusion
Eleganza Sheer provides an additional insulating layer at the window surface. The fabric vane construction creates a pocket of still air between the glass and the room interior, reducing the rate of heat transfer in both directions — cooler in summer as outdoor heat is slowed before reaching the room, warmer in winter as interior heat is retained longer before escaping through the glass.
This is the same principle behind cellular shades, applied in a vertical format. It is not the same level of insulation performance as a multi-layer cellular shade, but it represents a meaningful improvement over uncovered glass or rigid slat vertical blinds, which provide virtually no insulation benefit at all.
The Opera Eleganza configuration with a room-darkening back fabric adds a further layer — extending the insulation value and giving occupants the option to block radiant heat from direct afternoon sun when the standard sheer fabric alone is not sufficient.
Eleganza Sheer Applications
Sliding Glass Doors
Standard patio door openings up to 96 inches are the primary use case. Split draw opens from the centre, matching the natural left-right movement of the door panels. Wand control keeps the covering fully accessible without cords near the door handle.
Large Living Room Windows
Floor-to-ceiling windows in formal living rooms and dining rooms where the covering contributes to the room’s character. The drapery silhouette of Eleganza reads as a design element rather than a utility product from across the room.
Bedrooms — Opera Configuration
The Opera Eleganza with room-darkening back fabric gives bedrooms the aesthetic of sheer curtains during the day and the light control of a darkening shade when needed — without layering two separate window treatments on the same window.
Open-Plan Living Areas
The colour-coordinated track and classic pleat allow Eleganza Sheer to blend with existing soft furnishings in open-plan spaces where window coverings are in direct visual dialogue with sofas, rugs, and other textiles.
