LoE i89: The Room-Side Layer that Boosts Warmth Without Darkening Views

LoE i89 is a room-side LoE layer that reflects warmth back into your home. Added to the inside surface of an insulated unit, it works with standard LoE coatings to lower the U-factor and raise comfort—while keeping the clear, neutral look people want.

What LoE i89 does—right where you feel it

The coating sits on the interior glass surface of a dual-pane or triple-pane unit. From that position, it reflects your room’s heat back toward you on cold nights, helping the glass feel less chilly and the space feel steadier through the evening. The effect compounds when the cavity is filled with argon gas and paired with a primary LoE such as LoE 272 or LoE 366, and it can also complement LoE 180 when you want to keep that bright, winter-sun feel.

At a glance: performance in combinations

With LoE 180

Keeps the bright, high-gain feel for south glass while trimming the U-factor further—ideal when you want winter sun but better night-time insulation.

With LoE 272

Adds a room-side boost to a balanced, all-season spec; helps steady temperatures without noticeably dimming the view.

With LoE 366

Pairs strong summer sun control with a lower U-factor. Great for big west/south openings that used to overheat but still need winter comfort.

High VT, low haze

Engineered for clear views and low visible reflectivity compared to older interior films—easy to live with day and night.

Where LoE i89 makes the most difference

Bedrooms and living areas that feel cool near the glass on winter evenings benefit quickly. The room-side layer reflects radiant warmth back, reducing the need to close blinds just to feel comfortable.

Bathrooms, doors and safety locations can specify tempered or laminated builds. You still get the interior insulating boost with the right safety spec.

Retrofits and glass-only replacements across mixed exposures in the GTA let you keep your frames while upgrading the thermal feel of the window.

Placement & build details

Surface location

Installed on the room-side surface of the sealed unit (the “#4” surface in dual-pane; “#6” in triple-pane) for maximum interior effect.

Works with any LoE

Designed to complement stacks such as 180, 272 or 366 to lower U-factors without heavy tint.

Cleaning & durability

Built for everyday use with low haze and easy cleaning using common, non-abrasive household products.

Condensation notes

Lower U-factors reduce the chance of condensation around the edges, especially with warm-edge spacers. Center-of-glass temperature can still run cooler on very cold days, so keeping indoor humidity within seasonal recommendations helps the window resist condensation.
